Hail to the Chief

Today was the student council elections. I ran for president...and won. Sars is my VP and Christie and Lauren are my secretary and treasurer. Its pretty cool I guess...we haven't had a female president in ages. It'll be fun, the thing is now that I'm the top, I can't blame problems on anyone but myself, lol. Hopefully I don't have a nervous breakdown or anything....but then, spazzing out is what Erika does best, right? State is next week Saturday for Science O...i'm sooooooo nervous already!!

Congrats. Although I am the president of my schools school council, I haven't been kicked out of office yet.

What was your campaign platform? What are the big changes coming up?

When I was in high school I had a HUUUGE crush on our student council pres. His speech was about "building bridges, not walls". I still remember that. I found out that student clubs could elect reps to send to the student council meetings, so I made the drama club elect me their rep. No clubs had ever actually sent reps to meetings before. hee hee. I remember our drama teacher said to me, "I think Petunia is interested in building some bridges."

Later, in college, I ran into the guy. He said he was learning Swahili and wanted to go to Africa! I googled him when I was engaged (I googled all my old crushes) and saw that he was getting married too. He worked for an advertising company in NYC. How the heck did he go from building bridges and Swahili to being in advertising? Yeesh!

Wait a second, I just forgot I'm on your blog, not mine!!

Congrats!!! It's about time we had a girl in office. Get out there and show 'em what we can do! Vive Susan B. Anthony! Maybe Mrs. D will hang out her "WE CAN DO IT" poster in your honor... Hmm.

Erika, from one President to another, I wish you the best of luck.

It's the hardest position in the world to fill, no matter what the scale; school, or country, it's damn hard.

Don't let the little things get to you and you'll be fine.
